Snowshoeing – explore the mountains in a unique way

What: Snowshoeing, alone or with a guide

Why: Experience the beauty and wonder of the mountains, and discover its flora and fauna

Where: Val d’Isere

When: Throughout the winter season

The wonders of the mountains exist well beyond the pistes. Discover its hidden gems either on your own or in the company of a local guide on a snowshoeing excursion.

This can be a really special experience during which the guide will tell you stories about the local area and introduce you to the local flora/fauna.

If it is your first time, opt for a discovery hike of 2 hours. Your guide will give you some technical advice in order to progress quickly and easily through the varied areas of the mountain. You will learn to identify animal tracks while talking about living in the mountain.

If you already practice a sporting activity or hiking, opt for the half day excursion (3 hrs) that will take you to a higher altitude and will go a faster pace. After a few climbs, you will take a break near an alpine chalet before descending the slope while learning snowshoeing technique.

In good weather conditions and for really sporty people, go for a full day snowshoeing trip (7h) towards small peaks or remote areas. You will have lunch in a wild setting that will allow you to breathe and enjoy nature!

There are also 1.5 hour night excursions available… enter a world where a completely new atmosphere awaits you! You will be able to observe the life of nocturnal animals while enjoying a delicious hot chocolate.

Run review:

Fontaine froide, red run – this is a nice, fast red run. It can get quite choppy.
