Refuge du Prariond, a wonderful stop-off in the heart of the Parc Vanoise

Nestled at an altitude of 2,324 meters in the Prariond valley, The Prariond Refuge is in a marvellous position, and offers comfort and conviviality at the foot of the glaciers.

This green valley, located in heart of the Vanoise National Park, overlooked by large cliffs is home to a wealth of flora and fauna.

On the border with the Gran Paradiso National Park, you can observe marmots, chamois and ibex, as well as large raptors such as the bearded vulture and the golden eagle.

The refuge was completely refurbished during the summer of 2019 to create a revitalizing place for young and old, whether for a meal with the family, an overnight stay with friends or a solo trip.

The restaurant is open all day offering a variety of dishes made primarily with local produce, and organic where possible.

If you want to stay overnight you need to book online advance

On the ground floor of the refuge is the common room with a picnic area equipped with gas, kitchenware and crockery, a reading corner, board games, and sanitary facilities.

The first floor is made up of 4 dormitories of 8, as well as 2 dormitories of 4, you can also access sanitary facilities (wc, shower and sink).  The beds are fitted with cozy duvets, pillows and warm blankets from the Arpin spinning mill in Séez.

Outside, you can enjoy the south-facing terrace with a magnificent view of the valley.

The refuge is staffed from the beginning of March to the end of April and from mid-June to mid-September.
