Critérium de la Première Neige
A key event in the Alpine Ski World Cup and a major early-season gathering, Val d’Isère has been bringing together the best skiers on the planet for this competition since 1955.
Over two unique weekends combining top-level sport, festivities, and resort entertainment the best men and women skiers of the world will show their prowess on the legendary slopes of Val d’Isere. The men’s takes place on La Face de Bellevarde, and the women’s on the Oreilly-Killer (OK) slope.
Friday 12th December – official opening ceremony in the presence of the Mayor of Val d’Isère, followed by the Giant competitors’ presentation and the presentation of bibs to the Top 15.
From 5.45pm, on the pedestrianised Avenue Olympique the 70th Critérium de la Première Neige kicks off in true Val d’Isère style. Expect a brilliant atmosphere with the Funky Brass marching band, DJ Loran on the decks, and the Alpina Dancer’s bringing the energy to the heart of the village.
Between sets, don’t miss the athlete signing session with Rossignol & Dynastar: a great chance to meet the champions, snap a photo, grab an autograph — and get fired up before the racing begins.
5.45pm – Entertainment: Funky Brass, DJ Loran, Alpina Dancer’s + Rossignol & Dynastar athlete signing session
6.00pm – Official opening of the 70th Critérium
6.30pm – Public bib draw for the Men’s Giant Slalom
Practical info: from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, Avenue Olympique is closed to traffic between the two roundabouts and becomes a pedestrian-only zone for the event. Come early to soak up the atmosphere!
