WORLD CUP GIANT SLALOM IN VAL D’ISÈRE:

VICTORY FOR MATHIEU FAIVRE

French racer Mathieu Faivre surprised everyone today with his first World Cup Giant Slalom win on the notoriously difficult OK racecourse in Val d’Isère. Austrian Marcel Hirscher took second place, and France’s Alexis Pinturault came third. Indeed, it was France’s day at races, with the French team gaining four of the first five places.
